On Definitions and the like
I am a black-haired, squinty-eyed, once-petite, ex-evangelical Singaporean Chinese, cis-gendered female of Peranakan heritage living in Melbourne, Australia.
I am limited by height, stomach capacity, the mid-thirties, joint-pain, impatience and occasional inebriation.
Other limitations include social awkwardness and anxiety, occasional bouts of imposter syndrome and a debilitating fear of judgement and failure.
Less prominent features that have developed over the years include a desire for social justice and equity; a strong belief in the ability of food to break down barriers; and an unwavering confidence in the power of stories to open minds.
I cook. I garden. I dance. I write words, sing songs, ride my bike and play fetch with my dog.
I have a BA(Hons) in Anthropology, am currently studying a Masters in Nutrition and have been working as a qualified chef for over 10 years.
The rest, as they say, is detail.
